Counselling is sometimes called ‘talking therapy’ and it lets you discuss your thoughts and feelings in a safe, confidential environment. The term can mean different things to different people, but in general, it is a process people seek when they are distressed or anxious and would like some help to deal with these feelings. When you feel ready I will encourage you to share your worries with me and I am there to listen. Together we will work to find ways that feel right for you to live the life you need.
Initially when you contact me we will have a chat on the phone about counselling and what you feel you may need. We will agree a time that's convenient to you for the first session and this can either be face to face in my Covid compliant practice, online or by telephone. If you prefer online this can be either using Zoom or Facetime, whichever is easiest for you.
Unlike other services available in the community, you wont have to wait to see me for weeks or months. Your problems are usually immediate and require immediate attention. When you call we will have a chat and an appointment will be booked for the same week.
You may decide that a few sessions are sufficient to get it off your chest and that's ok. You can decide to do this face to face, online or by telephone. You may feel that more sessions are required and we can chat this through with no obligation on your part.
